Sep-Oct in 3rd and 4th Class

Oct 26, 2024

Third and Fourth Class have had a busy start to their school year. As well as getting to know their new classmates, they’ve had new books, new schedules etc.

We have been learning songs throughout the term, including Lean on Me, Erie Canal, The Auld Triangle and Dirty Old Town. Weekly workshops have also started with Music Generation, and they’re going really well.

The boys have enjoyed GAA coaching on Tuesdays and have done lots of games and activities with Healthy Kidz on Fridays. We’re also doing daily brain breaks, stretches and mindful activities in the classroom.

Plenty of topics have been explored so far this term, such as canals, clouds, constellations, mindfulness, Ireland’s native trees, scientific thinking, character strengths, coding, the counties of Ireland and the history of the school.

In October, we’ve had lots of fun for Space Week and Maths Week, as well as our preparations for Hallowe’en. After the mid-term break, we will also start weekly Time to Count sessions in class. There will be a series of Try Five+ STEAM workshops as well, starting in November.

Enjoy the break, everyone, and Happy Hallowe’en.
