Another school year is coming to an end and we have lots of nice memories to look back on in Le Chéile 2. It’s been a busy and eventful final term.
As well as celebrating a few birthdays, three of our boys have completed Sacraments in the church this term: one boy made his First Holy Communion and two made their Confirmation. We had beautiful weather for both ceremonies and everyone was proud of the boys for working so hard in preparation.
Following from our successful trip to the city centre, we visited Cabra Library to browse and relax. We went to the Post Office to send postcards that we had made. The class has made several trips to the Grangegorman and Shandon playgrounds. We’ve completed Gaelic Football and Futsal programmes in PE. We had a fantastic Sports Day, where the boys did speed and accuracy shooting games at Powerball and then switched to parachute games, futsal, rugby drills and athletics activities.
Everyone’s reading has improved since Easter, and the boys are reading confidently and clearly. We have done lots of nice group activities throughout the term. The boys have been making plenty of lovely art as well, including dot paintings, paper rollercoasters, collage faces and lots more. It’s been great to work with all the boys in the class and to see them trying their best. They will all do very well when they return to school after the holidays.
Sadly, we are saying goodbye to one of our boys, who has been in the school for many years and is graduating this week. We wish him all the best next year in his new school and hope he has many fond memories of his time in Christ the King BNS.
I hope all the boys have a safe and happy Summer. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work and the fun this year.
